AS Media, Mrs Hammond Connotations & Denotations

Denotations:
A woman dressed in red with a light shining directly down on her and she is surrounded by three men on their knees dressed in black and have skulls on their t shirts, looking up to her. One of the three men is holding a skateboard. Just above the woman's head is a halo held up by two cherubs. The background of the photo looks like a sub-urban environment.

Connotations:
The men from the picture seems to be admiring the woman, so shes getting a lot of male attention in the photograph. The red dress connotes the colour of love, so she would get the male attention. From the background and the halo being held by cherubs, anchored with the writing from the side, she seems to be an urban angel. Carrying on with the idea that she is an urban angel then the three men on the ground could be looking up to her like shes a god, or even possibly praying to her. The skulls on the mens t shirts could connote that they're sinners and they have seen an angel, which could mean that they are praying/looking up to her, also how she is showing alot of skin connotes that she is confident about her body. Also the product that GHD are selling is lit up in the bottom left corner, this could mean that if you buy the product you could look as good and as confident as her.

Film review

The Dark Knight:
When Batman, the mayor and the police force launch an assault on the mob, the mob was left to turn to the Joker for help, but in doing so the mob didn't count on the joker bringing total chaos to Gotham City.
The film would be targeted at Action lovers, this film has alot of action along with unexpected plot twists. The certificate for this film is a 12A.
The dark knights budget was $185,000,000 seems reasonable considering all of the hi-tech batmobiles!
Directed the film and the film has a few widely known actors such as Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger and many more.
Warner Bros are the studio that made the dark knight. The film used alot of special effects especially with all the explosions going off every scene. The film was released 24th July 2008.
The film was advertised in several ways:
Posters
Trailers
T.V Adverts
Bus Pictures
Billboards

Cinema AS Media Studies.

The Conjuring-
I wanted to see this film because i generally like horrors, although this film was a "Supernatural" Horror which isn't really the type of horror i would usually go for. I much prefer the horrors which could actually happen, like realistic horrors. E.g The orphan. I enjoyed The Conjuring although the introduction storyline was actually a better story line than the actual film itself. There were a lot of scenes which made me jump which obviously for a horror is essential. The conjuring is a good film for supernatural lovers, but for me the film just wasn't up to scratch.

Kick Ass 2-
I wanted to see this film due to the first kick ass was amazingly good, and the first was left on a cliffhanger, so i wanted to see how they carried on the story. The film was defiantly not up to my expectations, but was still an enjoyable watch nonetheless. The storyline was good, although it could have been better, defiantly needs more action! In conclusion kick ass 2 is a good film but will never live up to the original one.

The Internship-
I defiantly wanted to see this film due to the massive advertising campaign. Everywhere you go there was a poster, sign or a trailer for the internship! Even on the trailer for the internship there was an advert for the internship! The internship defiantly had its moments where i literally laughed out loud but as a whole it was little more than average. What let the film down was in the trailer they had already shown most of the funny parts, so when you finally watched it, you already knew what was coming.
